FAQs

What Should I Wear to an Aerial Fitness Class?

We advise people to wear comfortable, close-fitting clothes such as leggings with a vest top or t-shirt that can be tucked in, and bare feet. Please avoid wearing anything too flowy and especially clothing with zips or studs. Jewellery must be removed.

Do I Need to Be Fit to Try an Aerial Fitness Class?
Trust us when we say that ANYBODY and EVERYBODY can benefit from aerial fitness classes. The great thing about aerial fitness is it targets your arms, core, upper body and leg muscles without you even realising it because you’re having so much fun! Our highly trained and experienced instructors can adapt moves to suit your fitness level and are always happy to recommend off the hoop strengthening exercises to help.
I Think I Might be Late to Class, Can I Still Join In?

If you think you are going to be more than 5 minutes late for class then sadly the answer is no. We encourage people to arrive between 5 – 10 minutes before the start of class so you have time to change, sign in and fill out any forms if you are new. The warm up is a crucial part of the class. It is designed to get your blood flowing and your muscles warm before you begin the real hard work. When people arrive late it disrupts the class and is unfair on all the others who are waiting around. Please respect your fellow classmates and arrive in good time.

Will Any of the Exercises Hurt?

I’m not going to lie, yes it sometimes hurts and yes you will often get bruises. This is perfectly normal – after all you are spinning and twirling yourself around metal objects, ropes and other aerial materials! A certain amount of bruising and muscle soreness after training is to be expected. If you do have any concerns please speak to your instructor and seek medical advice.

Can I Still Come to Class During Pregnancy?

Unfortunately not. We wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to either yourself or your unborn baby. We recommend that you wait at least 3 months after a natural birth and 6 months if you had a caesarean section. We appreciate that everybody is different, so if you are at all unsure please get in touch with us directly.

What Can I Expect From My First Few Classes?

If you are brand new to aerial fitness, our qualified, friendly instructors will guide you through the basics to ensure you are engaging the correct muscles and getting to grips with good technique and terminology. You’ll begin to learn basic spins, holds and transitions, and with a bit of luck, come away from your first class wanting more!
